Harvest Blessings Centre Kenya is much more than an orphanage. We’re giving children hope, a chance and a destiny. We want to see them have the best possible chance in life and we are very passionate about the power of family and faith.

Harvest Blessings Centre Kenya was established in 2007 by Rev. Eugene Weaver and Rev. Peter Kangi Nguri as a nonprofit ministry beginning in Ngoliba. Our mission is to rescue very young orphaned children by providing a new home and integrating them into a new family.

Our goal is to develop the children through Christian parenting and Christian education so they can become independent, biblically founded, well-enabled leaders in their local community and nation.

We accept children that have been referred to us through the District Children’s Officer and are between the ages of 3 and 4 years old. The children are then young enough to be acclimated with the new environment and the negative effects of their former life can be forgotten over time.

I can only imagine that once I was born

Therefore can I remember that I used to have parents

But why can’t I remember when all these happened

Our lives in this world were near to the grave

My mother, my father were nowhere to be found

Before I realized, I was all alone

I tried to call, but no one answered

Our lives in this world were near to the grave

Everybody around us, saw us nothing

They called us “less fortunate”, while others “the cursed ones”

They looked at us as rubbish as they gave out their “cat calls”

Our lives in this world were near to the grave

Brian Kasyoki Today!

We thank our God for sending you His servant

You saved our lives from the valley of death

We are now enjoying, hoping for the future

Our lives in this world are no longer next to the grave

Education we are getting a way to a better future

Good food we eat to maintain a good body

Plenty water we are having, cleanliness we are blessed

Our lives in this world are no longer next to the grave

The glittering faces you see, show the future we will live

The good health we have, an indication of a stable future to live

The evident cleanliness you see, welcomes a clear future for us

Our lives in this world are no longer next to the grave

We don’t know how to thank-you for the good work you did

But we know now our loving God is going to hear our cries

Because down deep from our hearts we are much sobbing with thanksgiving

Our lives in this world are no longer next to the grave

This poem was written by Pastor Reuben and Pastor Charity the house parents on the boys side. All the children have memorized this whole poem by heart and this is written for all of you who totally changed their lives because of your heart of compassion.

Agape came to this home a very tormented boy and was opposing any form of authority. He could not let go of any dangerous item, be it a knife or any sharp object. If forced to let go, he would scream and fight back. A lot of prayers helped to deliver this boy from the bondage of even nightmares and hallucinations. There were many sleepless nights. He is now delivered and very settled. He is ready to obey and this has helped him to be in pre-unit and in perfect peace with the other children. He would like to be a prayerful pastor someday. He always prays for a van. He is a younger brother to Faith Mutanu.

Thank-you for the big help you give to Agape!

*ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Joel Agape came into the home with the Swahili name Kombo which means “the wrong way”. So we changed it to Agape which means “Love”, the only kind of love that can come through our Heavenly Father.

Faith is now six and a half years old and has been at HBC for two and a half years. Thank you so much on behalf of Faith because you took her when she really needed your help. On her arrival in the home, she didn’t even have shoes. Her best clothing and the only clothes she had was an old, borrowed school uniform that was too big for her. Her eyes communicated desperation and poverty. Her health was very poor. She had boarded a vehicle for the first time in her life the day she came. She had never even seen tap water or even a toilet her whole life. The rooms, bed, clothes, food and the environment in general was very scary to her in the beginning. Little did she know that all was meant for her good. Now through God and your support, you have brought light, hope and a future in her life. She is healthy now and learning very well in school with all of her needs now met. Also, she now has all of her new brothers and sisters around her along with a new mummy and daddy she can trust.

Thank-you so much for what you are doing. May the Lord God bless and increase you!

Brian was around four years old when he came to this centre. The noticeable problem in his life was poor feeding which has reduced his size and stagnated his growth. He was a fearful boy, but after days of attending him he opened up and is a real joker now. He is in class one at school and likes playing football (soccer) and athletics. He says that when he grows up, he would like to be a pilot. Whenever he hears the roar of an aeroplane, he follows it’s noise and makes sure that the other children keep quiet so that he can give them a story about his dream. One afternoon a helicopter hovered over this home and came very close to the premises three times. Brian made sure that he waved in the air and the man who was near the window waved back to this boy. This evening the selling story was Brian’s and he appeared to others as the flavor of the month.

Thank-you for the hand that you give to this child!

James came when he was slightly below four years old. He came to this home a lonely boy who kept to himself for sometime. Through loving and understanding, the boy was able to open up and he ended up becoming very social and friendly. This boy is in class one and rated in position three or four in school. He dreams of becoming a pastor one day. He is gifted in making his bed. This home has really transformed this boy’s life. He is now a devoted, young Christian who is ever alert during daily devotions.

Kennedy is a brother to Brian Macharia and both live in Harvest Blessings Centre. Kennedy is the younger of the two. When the two brothers arrived at HBC, both of them were without hope and very malnourished with swollen stomachs. We managed the problem through proper feeding though. On their arrival, they refused to put on any new clothes and cried hysterically when offered. We talked to them and realized they were not used to having new clothes before and they had to be taught that it was OK to let go of their old clothes. Kennedy is now in Class One in school and average in his performance. His health is good and he likes to share his things with the other children. His dream is to become an engineer one day. His is also known to destroy his toys because he has to make sure he sees the inside of the toy to know how it works.
